Segue Support
Segue is a stage and countdown timer. Stand an iPad where the speaker can see it, and run the clock from your iPhone anywhere in the room.
Get Segue free on the App Store
Getting started
- On the iPad (or any device the speaker will see), open Segue and tap Show the timer. It shows a four-digit code.
- On your iPhone, open Segue and tap Control a display. The first time, tap Allow when iOS asks to find devices on your local network.
- Choose the display from the list and type its code. That's it; from now on your phone reconnects to that display on its own.
Only have one device? Tap Use this device only to control the clock and show it full screen on the same device.
Common questions
My phone doesn't see the display
- Make sure the display is showing the pairing code (tap Show the timer) and that Segue is open on both devices.
- Turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on both devices. They don't have to be connected to a Wi-Fi network, just switched on.
- With Wi-Fi off, Segue still connects over Bluetooth, but it can take up to 20 seconds. Leave Wi-Fi switched on for the fastest connection.
- On the phone, check Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network and make sure Segue is on. If you tapped “Don't Allow” the first time, this is almost always the cause.
- Bring the devices closer together, then try again.
It says the code didn't work
Check the four digits on the display and type them again. If someone tapped New code on the display, the old code stops working; use the new one.
The connection dropped in the middle of an event
The display keeps counting on its own, so the speaker never sees a frozen clock. Open Segue on your phone again and it reconnects automatically within a few seconds. Locking your phone or switching to another app can pause the connection; that's normal, and it resumes when you come back to Segue.
How do I stop other people from controlling my display?
Only a device that has typed the display's code can control it. To lock out every paired remote, tap the display once to show its options and choose New code. Then pair your own phone again with the new code.
The iPad screen went dark
Segue keeps the screen awake while it shows the timer. If it still dims, check that Segue is open on the Show the timer screen and not in the background. For long services, keep the iPad plugged in.
What does Segue Pro include?
The free version runs segments of up to 10 minutes, keeps 2 saved rundowns and uses standard warning times: amber at 2:00 and red at 0:30. Segue Pro is a one-time purchase with no subscription. It adds segments of up to 3 hours, unlimited rundowns, and your own amber and red warning times.
I bought Pro on another device. How do I get it here?
Sign in with the same Apple Account, open Segue, tap Segue Pro, then Restore purchase. You don't pay again.
How do I get a refund?
Purchases are handled by Apple. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Does Segue collect my data?
No. There's no account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, and the app never connects to a server. See the privacy policy for details.
